Partying is one of Phoenix’s strong points. Lots of nearby major universities, major league sports teams, its desert location, its LGBT-friendly community, and its proximity to the Mexican border make give this city a wide variety of bars and clubs. For the spots where you absolutely must drink (and eat), look no further. We have compiled a list to help get your stomach rumbling.

Note: be sure to call ahead as this place is super popular and always packed! The Breadfruit & Rum Bar is another heavily awarded, must-visit for an island-themed bar. If you’re looking for a sports bar

Tom’s Tavern & 1929 Grill is somewhat of a hidden gem in Phoenix. Dating back to 1929, Tom’s was once a morgue, a pipe shop, a burger joint and agin mill. Today, it is a great spot for craft drinks, comfort food & watching a big game (any of the city’s major league teams or nearby Arizona State University).

Another fun sports bar in Phoenix is Zipp’s Sports Grill. Fresh and homemade all-American comfort food plus cold beers meets spacious patios with billiards (among other games). It’s the classic sports bar you’re looking for!toms
