An Affordable European Destination is…

Barcelona has about one-quarter of the amount of visitors annually than Paris, making this Spanish coastal city a pleasure to visit for its weather, attractions, and less expensive hotels than other top European tourist destinations.

For annual visitation, London remains atop the list in Europe with 16.8 million international tourists in 2013, followed by Paris, Rome, and Milan which means there’s more room for you to enjoy fifth-place Barcelona.Barcelona Center

Situated along the Mediterranean Sea along the north east coast, the summer weather is ideal for visitors, with temperatures in the low 80s (mid to upper 20’s in Celsius), and hosts a wealth of cultural sights, museums, and easy access to nature.

In a quick search for four or five-star hotels in Barcelona this summer, I found 14 hotels under $100 on (a members-only global travel booking site). One example of a hotel deal is the 4-star Sunotel Club Central with a roof-top pool, and perfectly located in the elegant Eixample neighborhood for well under $100, and 40% below the popular U.S. travel websites.Barcelona Art

The hotel features free Wi-Fi, a cozy full-service bar, and complimentary bicycle rentals to explore the famous Las Ramblas Boulevard, and nearby Plaza Catalunya.

With saving like that, (and with the strong U.S. dollar) your wallet remains full for sightseeing activities starting from the centrally located Sunotel:
