Logo Chocolate in Brussels for chocoholics!

By ornab ⋅ June 3, 2008 ⋅ Post a comment

Brussels is the capital of Belgium and the administrative centre of the European Union. It is also a fantastic place to visit if you are vacationing in Europe and are a chocolate aficionado as Belgium produces 172,000 tons of chocolate each year and has 2,000 chocolate shops.

Brussels Chocolate

One of the most popular attractions in the city is to visit the chocolate factories and even do a special chocolate tour! A museum dedicate to chocolate is also recommended. You will learn everything about the origins of the chocolate and enjoy a good ‘’ hot chocolate’’ or a choice of chocolate treats:

Museum of Cocoa and Chocolate

Rue de la Tête d’Or, 9/11
1000 Brussels (Belgium)
Tel.: +32 (0)2 514 20 48

Other things that you can do on your chocolate visit tour is to visit ‘’La Maison du chocolat Aritsanal’’. Located in a typical 12th century house, 35 meters from the Grand Place, its aim is to offer the best chocolates from the master chocolate makers of Belgium. Since 1958, it has become the inescapable stop for the finest gourmets of the world!

Maison du Chocolat Artisanal

Rue du Marche aux Herbes 67 Grasmarkt

Brussels

Tel: 0032 25137892

A famous Belgian event is Aroma Festival, a display including chocolate, coffee and tea exhibits and samples. The highest-quality product brands can be found here. .

Impossible to get back home without any presents. The best chocolate isn’t cheap but it is exceptionally good. A various choice of chocolate shops will be around the famous ”Grand Place” (Godiva, Leonidas, Neuhaus, Chocolat Manon) and do not forget to visit as well the fabulous ”Galeries St Hubert” where the most well known factories have their own shop. Chocolate is delicious!!!

Beside chocolate, the vibrant atmosphere of Brussels is further enhanced by picturesque medieval streets, lively squares, beautiful boulevards, impressive monuments, spacious parks, cozy cafés, interesting restaurants and an active cultural life.

Enjoy!
